The Ultimate Fitness Game

Today I began the game! I first had to figure out my BMR along with the calories I would be burning today. My final calorie count was 2933 cal. Now, I know that if I want to lose a pound a week I have to eat 500 less calories. I set a goal of around 2 lbs a week, so my daily money bank became $1,933. I had such a great day. Playing the game, for the first day, was easier than I thought it would be...but will we see about tomorrow. I am to give you all a run down of my calorie in take for the day, so here goes...

Breakfast/Lunch:
Scrambled eggs with ham-76 cal.
Propel Water-25 cal.
Celery with peanut butter-120 cal.

Snack:
apple-65 cal.
a bit of soup-10 cal.

Dinner:
2 chicken breasts-240 cal.
brown rice-230 cal.

Snack:
Popcorn-150 cal.

If you total that all, it comes to 1017 calories!!!

Yay, so I did great for the first day. Can't wait for tomorrow and the challenges that will await me around every corner!

Good Luck to all of you as well!

Day One: The Beginning

My challenge: Lose 80 pounds and get to my goal weight of 180.

I'm sure all of you out there reading this (if there are any of you) can easily add, and you guessed it, my starting weight is 260 pounds. WOW. Seriously, how did I let myself get this far. As I start out explaining my journey to where I am now, I want to let you know a little about myself. I am a 20 year old female college student. I should be loving and enjoying life, not missing out on new experiences because I am not confident in who I am. I'm not even confident enough to tell you who I really am. I hope you accept this fact, from now on, I want to go be Jocelyn. This alter ego will give me the confidence to tell you the TRUTH. I can try to lie to others close to me, but not knowing who you are, lets me feel free, I know I will be able to tell you absolutely everything that happens during this new journey in my life.

After living 20 years, each moment as an overweight/obese individual, I know I need and am ready for the ultimate change. With your help, I hope to conquer my goal of weighing 180 pounds. I have been trying to make this change for a long time, but I never really had the confidence to do what needed to be done. I have to make the effort, and hopefully my life and outside appearance will change.

I also need to tell you how I got the confidence and strength to know I could take on my goals. Just two days ago I recieved an amazing book in the mall. "Cutting Myself in Half," by Taylor LeBaron showcases his journey to losing 150 pounds, half his body weight. He talks about this game he created. UFG (Ultimate Fitness Game) is his way of changing his life, by facing each day of fitness and eating as a video game.

I'm about half way through this book so far, and I already feel that it is possible for me to fulfill my goals. I have never heard another young persons' story, and knowing that Taylor did so much, gives me the confidence that I can do the same. I understand the game and the challenge I have ahead of myself, but I also know that I need to approach this in small goals instead of a large goal to lose 80 pounds.

My first goal is losing 25 pounds. This might seem a lot for my first goal, but it needs to be. For a long time I have wanted my nose pierced and today my mom has finally agreed that I can. On the day after I lose 25 pounds, I will be getting it pierced. This small goal is going to keep me on track help me get closer to my 180 pound goal.

Tomorrow is the day I begin playing the UFG. With my life riding on this game, I know that I will be able to create a gaming strategy that works for me. I hope you all can follow me on my journey and become my extended weight loss family. See you all tomorrow where I begin changing my life, one pound at a time.
